When Outfits Flop
All these outfits had such potential, but were ruined when these gals decided to slum it with a pair of flip-flops. Ladies, next time try a nice strappy sandal, a flat, or a wedge if you want a comfort shoe. They look great, feel great, and they won't insult the rest of your outfit.

Ok... This out fit was probably ruined from the get-go
but...

...there really is no excuse for this. Even the dog is embarrassed.

Rachel Bilson, What Happened?
Generally a fashion icon, Rachel was obviously NOT on the top of her game when this mistake was being put together. I've heard of the trapeze dress, but this takes it a step further... this is a canopy dress.
To achieve this look you'll need:
1) A purple flex fleece hoodie from American Apparel
2) A Hefty garbage bag, preferably the silver variety
3) Sandals

Ridiculous Photo
This is the most ridiculous picture/outfit/girl I've seen in a while. This should not be a real Olsen, but a cartoon of what someone thinks they look like.
Please note the caption in yellow... hi-larious!

When Good Trends Go Bad
Even Celebs and their stylists make mistakes from time to time. Lets explore a few of those... just for fun.
This dress is super cute... on the right body. America has curves, so she should be wearing a more structured outfit that shows them off. All this dress does is make her look puffy in all the wrong places.
If you're going to wear a shift dress, make sure it doesn't overwhelm you. This much fabric flowing all the way to the knees makes Julianne look lost in her dress.
Puffy sleeves are in, but in proportion. Jessica's whole top is loose. Pairing that top with a mini and heels gives her that ice cream cone shape everyone is after... hmm.
The 70's are back. Especially, aparently, for Jennifer. She needs to pick 1 focus piece and stick with it. I would keep the sweater, swap the pants for a straight leg or trouser fit, and save that bag for another day.
I like the top of this dress but then it looks like it exploded at the bottom. This would have been much cuter in a knee legnth style. And I really hope that is some sort of cast or brace around her wrist...
This is my favorite because I love me a huge bag. But Sarah Michelle isn't wearing her bag, her bag is wearing her!
So the moral of this story is don't trust everything you see in a magazine, and definately look before you leave the house.

Emergency Love It or Loathe It? Mischa Barton
When I saw this outfit I thought it was laughably bad. The pants, the shoes, the purse, the belt - all bad! However, I have had numerous people tell me they like this outfit. Maybe they like its Golden Girl kitsch (although, lets be honest, no self respecting Golden girl would wear this outfit... not even Blanche), or maybe they just like incredibly unflattering clothes. Whatever the case may be, I need to know... Do you Love or Loathe this outfit?
Tomorrow: Get Kerri Russell's Look (I promise!)

Hilary Duff: What happened?
We know she has the potential to be cute...

...but what has she been thinking lately?

Tip 1: Dress your age.

Tip 2: Make sure your top matches your bottom (and PLEASE don't wear ankle boots! Even your closest friends won't tell you that you look like a whore! sorry...)

Tip 3: Just don't do this.
Thanks to In Style for the pics!

The Shopping Center Blues
A quick Rant...
I was out shopping yesterday when I came across a very cute pair of black flats, on sale mind you. 50% off! They were a little pricey so I asked the sales girl for the exact total including tax. She gave it to me and I decided to go for it. She went to retrieve the other shoe and when she came back she said she "accidentally" quoted me the wrong price. The price on the shoe (on the sales floor) was different than the price listed on the box. I asked her if she would honor the price she quoted me, of course, she wouldn't. "It's in the system" was her big argument. Now, I've worked a lot of retail in my day and "in the system" or not, there is always a way to satisfy your customer. This really is a ridiculous trick. These people lure you up to the counter with false prices and then make you feel pressure to buy something at a higher cost. Lets rise up against our retail oppressors and demand that they honor their prices!

Ok, go.
Inspired by my friends and my love for both trashy fashion magazines as well as the standards, I decided it was time to put all this knowledge, and time, to good use.
Remember a time that was fancier? I don't. But lucky for us we have movies to prove the world was once a prettier place. When did we get so lazy? Why don't (average) people dress up anymore? Now don't get me wrong... I love blue jeans as much as the next gal, but I also happen to know that's not all there is. Let bring back dressing up to go into town. Lets bring back the little black dress, hats, and handkerchiefs. Lets classy up...
...and then have some fun classying down...
