I want her hair, but I have MINE!

I want loose waves like Jessica Alba’s

If you have straight hair: Rub in mousse, blow-dry, tousle and twirl with a skinny curling iron (try Vidal Sassoon Studio Tools 3/4-inch Curling Iron, $20).

If you have waves: Mist on volume spray (try Pantene Pro-V Thickening Spray, $4, at drugstores), diffuse dry and “scrunch the hell out of it!” says Alba’s hair guy, Robert Ramos, co-owner of Estilo Salon in Los Angeles. Then pump up waves with a curling iron.

If you have curls: Blow out hair first, make waves with a curling iron and finger-fluff.

I want sexy bedhead like Eva Mendes’

If you have straight hair: Set hair in large hot rollers, says Mendes’ stylist, Rod Ortega. Unroll, tease your hair at the crown, pin a few pieces back and hairspray away; try Garnier Fructis Full Control Hairspray ($4).

If you have waves: Easy! Tease roots, pin back (leave a few strands loose) and spray.

If you have curls: Straighten, do hot rollers and pin back with hairpins—they won’t pop out of thick hair like bobby pins do (try Goody So Secure Hair Pins, $3, Target).

I want gorgeous curls like Halle Berry’s

If you have straight hair: Rub in gel; twirl like crazy with a curling iron; do a side pony.

If you have waves: Curl with a small iron, defrizz with styling cream (try Paul Mitchell Express Style Quick Slip, $13, paulmitchell.com for salons) and make the ponytail.

If you have curls: Berry did her own hair; so can you! Use styling cream and a bungee that wraps around hair (not an elastic you pull it through) to prevent wear, tear and frizz, says pro Oscar James (try Ricky’s Signature Series Bungees, $4, rickys-nyc.com for stores).

I want super-sleek hair like Gwyneth Paltrow’s

If you have straight hair: Flat-iron just the ends for extra polish (try BaBylissProTT Tourmaline Flat Iron, $150).

If you have waves: Blow out with a round brush—like Paltrow’s stylist, Ken O’Rourke, did—then run a flat iron over your ends.

If you have curls: Smooth on a sleek-ifying product (try Bumble and Bumble Straight, $24) and blow hair straight with a round brush. Now flat-iron it section by section, from roots to ends, and smooth on anti-frizz serum to ward off pouf.
